Alina's Story
I had a fun time training this year, although every year brings new and different challenges. I hit some PR’s on the erg and made technical changes on the water that have helped me understand the stroke and feel of the boat more. It felt like a step in the right direction, and I want to continue learning and making those adjustments. I have an awesome group of people that are training with me and I’m looking forward to putting in the work with them this upcoming year.
Before Worlds, our camp in Italy helped us solidify our rhythm and feel. We made some strong strides that we

wanted to carry into racing. Once we got to Belgrade, we continued to reiterate that our execution would be clinical and nothing different to what we had been practicing. We had a plan that we knew and trusted, especially since we knew racing was going to be tight all the way down the course. I never felt a moment of hesitation or concern about where we were. There was a feeling of full commitment down the boat, and I think that showed in our performance.
My plan for next year is to continue to row at the Princeton Training Center and my goal is to make the team for Paris. I greatly appreciate all the support as I continue on this path. I am always honored to represent Oregon State (and the USA) at the international level. Go Beavs!Photo of Alina at Worlds with silver medal.
